Seems this is the first introduction here, unless I've drunk too much and strayed into the wrong forum section.
Soooo nervous. Feel watched by the shadows.
I'm from down under, so forgive my somewhat antisocial time zone. Apart from trying my hand at writing, I enjoy a little yachting; I crew for some close friends, every fortnight, whom own a 25” trailer-sailor. Racing around the harbour buoys, that sort of thing typically. I’m also an amateur astronomer. A hobby I’ve dabbled in for about four years. I know the southern skies pretty well, and a regular at our local society guilty of trying to monopolise the main observatory telescope. I'm often part of a team that hosts schools, scouts, and other community groups we usher through the observatory, to promote the club & astronomy educationally. I also write simple astronomy related articles on behalf of the society for the local paper.
I still consider myself a novice RP'er, though I've participated in a couple of short freeform RP's before. I don't know that I have developed any sort of style, except for a maybe I punt in the direction of wry humour. My goal is to engage in some creative writing, a step away from the usual formal writing I deal with. Also just have fun time while improving my literary skills, which were not something I majored in, long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, in school.
Fiction wise, I love science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, and the odd crime/thriller novel. I grew up on Narnia and David Eddings. I’m a bit of a Star Wars fan too, and absolutely adore all the awesome instrumental score soundtracks generally accompanying said movies. That’s my preferred escape and writing mood ambience. Beyond knowing what I like, I'm not terribly musically talented.
